Causeway Coast Holiday

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what personal data Causeway Coast Holiday collects, why, and what choices you have. In short: we collect very little, ads fund the site and show either way, and everything else described below only happens if you actively say yes to it.

Who we are

Causeway Coast Holiday (causewaycoast.holiday) is published by Content Kings, based in Northern Ireland. For anything in this policy, contact:

What we collect, and when

1. Standard hosting logs

This site runs on Cloudflare Pages. Like almost any website, Cloudflare's infrastructure processes basic technical request data (your IP address, browser type, the page requested) automatically, purely to serve you the page and protect against abuse. This happens on every visit regardless of cookie consent, it's how the web works, not a choice we or you make. See Cloudflare's own privacy policy for how they handle this.

2. Analytics (only if you accept)

If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand which guides are actually useful, page views, roughly where visitors are coming from, which device type, that kind of aggregate pattern. This uses cookies (_ga, _ga_<container-id>) and shares this data with Google as our analytics processor. We don't use this to identify you personally, and we don't combine it with any other data source. Full detail on the specific cookies: Cookie Policy.

3. Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. The ad-serving script itself loads on every page, that's how "automatic" ad placement works, Google decides where on the page an ad appears, we don't manually place them. Whether those ads are personalised to you depends on the same cookie banner: if you haven't accepted, or you reject, you still see ads, but untargeted ones based only on the page's content, not on you. If you accept, Google may use cookies to personalise which ads you see based on your wider browsing, under Google's own advertising privacy policy, not ours. You can also control ad personalisation directly at Google's own Ad Center, independent of this site's cookie banner.

4. Booking widgets (only if you accept, or open one directly)

Some pages can show a live booking widget from GetYourGuide or Viator (tours and experiences) for real, bookable activities. These are gated the same way as analytics, they don't load until you accept the cookie banner, or click "Show booking widget" on that specific widget. Once loaded, GetYourGuide or Viator process your interaction with their widget under their own privacy policies, not ours, we don't receive or store anything from that interaction ourselves.

5. Affiliate links (no data shared by us)

Some accommodation pages link to Expedia for hotel prices. These are plain links, clicking one takes you to expedia.com in a new tab. We don't pass any personal data to Expedia when you click, and nothing loads on this page as a result. What Expedia does once you're on their site is covered by their own privacy policy, not ours.

6. Contact by email

If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you tell us, used only to answer you. We don't add email addresses from direct contact to any mailing list, we don't run one.

What we don't do

Legal basis

Where UK GDPR requires a legal basis: hosting logs run on our legitimate interest in operating the site securely. Untargeted advertising runs on our legitimate interest in funding the site. Ad personalisation, analytics, and booking widgets all run on your consent, which you give (or withhold) via the cookie banner, and can withdraw at any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.

How long we keep data

Analytics cookies follow Google's own documented defaults (up to 2 years for _ga, see Cookie Policy). We don't independently store or archive analytics data ourselves beyond what's visible in our Google Analytics account. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your query.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email admin@contentkings.ie. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Children

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If what this site actually collects changes, we'll update this page to match, since this policy exists to describe the truth of what runs here, not to sit still. Genuinely significant changes (a new tracking tool, advertising going live) will also update the "last updated" date above.
