Causeway Coast Holiday

Editorial Policy

This page explains how guides on this site are actually researched, checked, and kept up to date, so you can judge for yourself how much to trust them.

How guides are researched

Practical detail, prices, opening hours, ticket requirements, parking, accessibility, transport, is checked against official or primary sources: the operator's own website, the relevant council, tourism board, or National Trust page, rather than copied from other travel sites. Where a claim can't be verified against a source we trust, we say so in the text rather than presenting a guess as settled fact.

Fact-checking, not "write once and forget"

Every guide carries a "fact-checked" date. Travel information drifts, prices rise, attractions close for the season or for good, councils merge, ticket schemes change, so a guide that was accurate when written can quietly become wrong. Rechecking is an ongoing process, not a one-off pass: guides get revisited, and if we find something's changed, we fix it and move on rather than leaving an old figure in place because nobody happened to notice.

When we get something wrong

We correct it, and where it matters we say what changed and why, rather than quietly editing it away. If you spot an error, factual, a broken link, an outdated price, anything, tell us via Contact and we'll check it. Genuine corrections get made regardless of how the guide was originally written.

Neutral on contested topics

Northern Ireland's own history and identity are genuinely contested in places. Where a guide touches on that, our aim is to present the facts of what happened without editorialising on which side was right, a travel guide isn't the place to relitigate it, and readers visiting from anywhere on the political spectrum deserve the same treatment.

What we don't do

This policy describes the standard we're working to across the whole site, older guides may still be mid-way through this process rather than fully rechecked. If you notice one that looks stale, that's genuinely useful for us to hear about, see Contact.
