Cookie Policy
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense to help fund it, uses Google Analytics to understand which guides people actually find useful, and on some pages, booking widgets from GetYourGuide and Viator that let you book tours directly without leaving the page. Ads always show. Everything else, plus whether ads are personalised to you, only starts if you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner (or, for a specific booking widget, if you click "Show booking widget" on that one widget), and you can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

The _ga cookie's documented default expiry (per Google) is up to 2 years. We don't control how long GetYourGuide or Viator's own cookies last, that's set by them once their widget loads, see their own policies linked below.
Affiliate links (no cookie set by us)
Some pages link out to Expedia for hotel prices. Clicking one of these plain text links takes you to expedia.com, it doesn't load any script or set any cookie on this page, so it isn't gated by the cookie banner. What happens after you leave this site is between you and Expedia. See our About page for how affiliate links work here.
Your choice
If you reject cookies, Google Analytics doesn't run, ads still show but stay untargeted, and the GetYourGuide/Viator widgets stay collapsed behind a "Show booking widget" button rather than loading automatically, clicking that button is still your choice, just scoped to that one widget instead of the whole site. Browsing and reading guides never depends on accepting anything. You can review or change your choice at any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer of every page, or manage ad personalisation directly at Google's Ad Center.
