Ballycastle’s Ould Lammas Fair is billed as Ireland’s oldest traditional fair, running for centuries and remaining one of the genuine highlights of the Causeway Coast events calendar - real heritage, not a manufactured tourist event.
2026 Dates
22-25 August 2026, Ballycastle.
What’s On
- Saturday 22 August: opening day - Heavy Horse Show and Parade, Vintage Vehicle Display, street theatre, family activities, and live music on the seafront.
- Monday-Tuesday, 24-25 August: traditional trading takes centre stage - the historic heart of the fair, with stalls of the kind that have given the event its name for generations.
- Four days overall of live entertainment, family activities, and tradition.
Traffic and parking in Ballycastle are significantly affected during the fair - if you’re driving in, allow extra time and expect road closures/diversions around the town centre. Check the Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council’s traffic advice for the current year before travelling.
